About Arafat

Arafat Rahaman is a staff reporter at The Daily Star. Since 2017, he has reported on education, governance, youth, social justice and civic life from Dhaka and Rajshahi. His work combines field reporting, interviews, public records, data and visual storytelling, with a focus on how policy decisions affect people and institutions.
He has published more than 300 stories and holds bachelor's and master's degrees in Mass Communication and Journalism from the University of Rajshahi. His reporting and photography have been recognised by The Daily Star, JICA, DW Akademie and Investigative Reporters & Editors.
